Gingerbread Houses for Allergies

I'm glad that it's not too late for me to make a gingerbread house with my little one. But I've been searching high & low for a recipe that we can eat. Even better, I found 2 bakeries that make kits! Ahh...Here's the scoop. But hurry! You need to place your orders by Wednesday, December 17 to enjoy these by Christmas!A & J Bakery, in NJ, makes houses two different ways; Nut Free; Egg & Dairy Free gingerbread house kits. For $24, plus shipping ($6), they supply you with all of the pieces of Pre-baked gingerbread house, white icing, 2 types of nut free candy and a variety of non-edible decorations for your decorating pleasure. They also include instructions for the construction of the house.

The Sensitive Baker also sells a gingerbread house kit for $25, plus shipping ($12). Sensitive Baker specializes in Gluten-Free items. Their kit is GF, dairy-free, soy-free, corn-free and nut-free. The icing in the kit has eggs, but can be left out of the kit if you wish.

Here is an adorable vegan gingerbread house, with recipe, that I found online. Haven't tried the recipe, but it sure looks delish!

Anyone know of other recipes or resources for allergen-free gingerbread houses?

  1. We made a "gingerbread" house last year out of gingerbread flavored Rice Krispie treats. Very easy and yummy!
