Food allergies were recently in the New York Times, discussing the topics of research and testing procedures.
The article titled "Researchers Put a Microscope on Food Allergies" reviews some ongoing research, including the "Hygiene Hypothesis" and other looks at statistics of food allergies in the US versus those of other countries.
"Is it a Food Allergy or False Alarm" takes a look at the imperfections of our tests, with the conclusion by Dr. David Fleischer that "The only true test of whether you're allergic to a food or not is whether you can eat it and not react to it." {But I'm just the messenger. Talk to your doctor.}
